Reading each haiku
her soft lips suspend kigos
light in humid air
I’m simply alone
with empty expectations
and a naive heart
the body ripples
in expectation of skin
touching skin again
There’s only one rule.
Release all expectations
and just be present.
Dead expectations
wait behind cracked doors within
this redundant realm.
Stuck inside the mind
reality starts to bend
leaving you distorted
stand at the crossroad
of your heart and step forward
to be torn apart
* I found this last night in a journal about ten years old..It is a rough, unfinished piece scribbled sideways on paper…I don’t remember writing this, but I remember the time period and, wow, I was in so much pain then.*
she says she can’t see
he moves silently closer
she already knows
someone once told her
that her hands should never move
and she cannot breath
he thinks she can’t see
when he lets go of silence
she already knows
she cannot be found
breath fading into thin air
he already knows
quick fingered deceit
burns white lies in loose pockets
filled with dancing coins

As the sun dips low
evening vespers rise to bid
farewell to the day.
